Community Conservation Grant Program

Grant funding is available for conservation projects related to education or resource protection!

Our Community Conservation Grant Program was created in 2017 and has funded numerous conservation related projects and education events within the county. Each year the District offers this competitive grant funding for local groups and organizations to seek funding from our office for conservation projects or conservation education. This grant opportunity is aimed towards schools, municipal departments, and local community-based organizations such as scout groups, beautification committees, or not-for-profits. Scroll down to check out some past projects for ideas and to see what local folks have been able to do!

The Monarch Festival at Crandall Park:

In 2022, the Crandall Park Beautification Committee applied for funding to host an event centered around the Monarch Butterfly. They had educational speakers from a local college, facepainting, ice cream and other events and activities for kids to enjoy while learning about the importance of these local pollinators!
