A Fresh Water Perspective
A film that looks beneath the surface of Lake George
The Warren County Soil & Water Conservation District received funding in 2021 from New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission (NEIWPCC) and the Lake Champlain Basin Program (LCBP) through an Education and Outreach Grant to create an underwater film on the effects of human-induced disturbances and aquatic invasive species on the local environment, as well as, the diverse habitats and native plants in Lake George. The District worked with SUNY Adirondack, The Lake George Association, Lake George Waterkeeper and the Lake George Park Commission to create this educational film. The goal was to bring the general public a view of the lake bottom habitat that few ever get a chance see and to promote the efforts for protection of the natural resources and water quality within the Lake Champlain Watershed.

“This project has been funded wholly or in part by the United States Environmental Protection Agency under assistance agreement (LC00A00695-0) to NEIWPCC in partnership with the Lake Champlain Basin Program.”
